Matthew is a structural engineer working for Buro Happold on a mixture of refurbishment, cultural and commercial projects, including the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station, the V&A East and a new campus for ESET. He has particular expertise in structural timber and low carbon concrete, and is passionate about international development, having completed humanitarian engineering projects across the UK, Asia and Africa. He spent a year working in Zambia in 2016, which provided experience designing and building using natural materials, including timber and structural earth.
Third Year students undertake a comprehensive design study, exploring and resolving the central technical issues of their projects alongside individual unit agendas.
